Warrant Issued for Former Attorney

Earlier this month, Associate Circuit Judge William H. Winchester, II, issued a probation violation warrant for Marc J. Healy, 44, a former attorney from Marshall, Missouri. The bond is set at $2,500, cash only. Healey had failed to appear for a probation violation hearing set for January 24, 2001 at the Courthouse in Jackson, Missouri. Winchester, a Scott County judge, was appointed by the Missouri Supreme Court to sit as a special judge in the Healey case.

Healey is on probation for misdemeanor criminal non-support of a child. He had pled guilty to the offense on August 17, 2000, and had been sentenced to one year in the county jail, but the execution of the sentence had been suspended and he had been placed on probation for two years. One condition of probation was that he make his child support payments as ordered. He is alleged to have violated his probation by making "only a partial payment of $475.00 in September 2000" and failing "to pay current support of $521.00 per month in October and November 2000."

Healey, a former sole practitioner in Marshall, Missouri, was suspended from practicing law by the Missouri Supreme Court on July 6, 2000.
