STEPHEN N. LIMBAUGH, JR.
1979 - 1982

Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr., the twenty-eighth prosecuting attorney, was born in Cape Girardeau on January 25, 1952, the son of former prosecuting attorney Stephen N. Limbaugh. He was educated at Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in 1973 and a J.D. in 1976. After serving one four-year term as prosecuting attorney he practiced law in the firm founded by his grandfather, Rush H. Limbaugh. He was appointed Circuit Judge for the Thirty-Second Judicial Circuit in 1988 and was reelected to the position in 1988. On August 7, 1992, he was appointed to the Missouri Supreme Court by Governor John Ashcroft. He still serves as one of Missouri's seven Supreme Court judges.
