A. J. Seier, twenty-sixty prosecuting attorney, was born in St. Louis on August 10, 1934. He served as a U.S. Naval Aviator from 1954 to 1958 and was then educated at the University of Missouri - Columbia with a B.A. in 1960 and a law degree in 1962. He practiced law in St. Louis from 1962 to 1965 and in Cape Girardeau from 1965 to 1968, when he was elected prosecuting attorney. In 1974 he was President of the Missouri Prosecuting Attorney's Association. He was elected Cape Girardeau County Circuit Judge in 1976 and was twice reelected. During his tenure he was frequently appointed Special Judge throughout Missouri to assist other counties and was the sentencing judge in more than 40 murder cases. He retired to private practice in 1993.
