RICHARD E. SNIDER
1959 - 1960

Richard E. Snider, twenty-third prosecuting attorney, was born October 4, 1933 in Dexter, Missouri, and received his bachelor's degree in 1956 from SEMO and his law degree in 1958 from the University of Missouri - Columbia. He served one term as prosecuting attorney and later served as assistant prosecuting attorney from 1962 to 1968. From 1968 to 1970 he was an administrative assistant for U.S. Representative Bill D. Burlison. He served as President of the East Missouri Community Action Agency's Board of Directors from 1970 to 1973, Vice-chairman of the Cape Girardeau Housing Authority from 1968 to 1972, Director of Southeast Missouri Legal Services, and a member of the NAACP Legal Fund. He contributed several articles for legal publication. Richard, a midget, died at age 45.
