UPCOMING EVENTS

 

FETE DE CHAUMETTE: A CELEBRATION OF OUR REGION -- Celebrate Bastille Day in historic Ste. Genevieve County on Saturday, July 12, 11am-8pm.  The festival will feature a variety of wineries, arts, crafts, antiques, and other products from the region, including a farmers market (insulated bags will be available).  Kid's activities will include turtle racing, kite flying (the view from the hilltop is spectacular), bobbing for apples, and the traditional French game of boule'.  Hosted by Chaumette Vineyards & Winery in conjunction with the Mississippi River Hills Association.  Admission $20 per car.  DOWNLOAD THE FLYER.

 

 


ANNOUNCEMENTS

WE HAVE NEW BOARD OFFICERS -- Steve Frye, President (Perry County); Octavia Scharenborg, VP (Cape Girardeau County); and Brenda Carrow, Secretary/Treasurer (St. Francois County).  We also welcome two new board members, Jennifer Johnson from Chaumette Winery in Ste. Genevieve County and Lynn Williams from the Sikeston-Miner CVB in Scott County.  A HUGE thank-you to Keith Kinkade for serving as President during our first year.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CITY OF STE. GENEVIEVE, recently named as a 2008 Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Only one other Missouri locale has ever made the list, Arrow Rock in 2006.
