BridgeCam Rescue from the Flood
May 14, 2002

The Mississippi River can rise fast.  The computer running the bridgecam was in the metal shed.
Note the tug boat.

 
The cranes are on the Illinois side of the Mississippi.

The camera was safe on top of a tall pole.

The water was expected to rise 4 more feet.  The current was calm around the shed.

Staff and a volunteer prepared the rescue craft.  Note the blue cargo tub.

Captain Larry was at the helm.

The computer was fine.

River Critters retreated.

TheCaptain held the craft steady during loading.

Water was rising fast.

The mission was a success!
