For Local College
Students
Because Grace United Methodist Church is located within a short distance
of the South East Missouri State University
campus, we are happy to welcome SEMO students to our worship services as well
as the overall church life of our congregation. We are delighted to be their
church home while they are studying in Cape Girardeau.
The United Methodist denomination has always been a church which people
from other Christian denominations have found appealing. It is not surprising,
then, that both United Methodist students and those from other church
backgrounds feel comfortable in our worship service and feel right at home in
the life of our church.
- SUNDAY
SCHOOL CLASSES FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
- We have new Sunday School Class and it
is for college age persons! The class meets in room 208 near the church office.
Rev. Scott Moon teaches the class which focuses on the Bible and the decisions
we face in today's world. Please join us and bring a friend or two.
- ASSOCIATE
MEMBERSHIP
- We want our college students to know they are important to us. We
consider them part of our extended church family. Thus, we offer "Associate"
memberships to those students who come from other parts of the country and want
to be active in our church while they are in Cape Girardeau. This allows them
to maintain their official "full" membership in their church back home. As an
"Associate Member" of Grace United Methodist Church, the student has the right
to serve (with voting privileges) on committees within the church.
