The small group approach to ministry did not begin with the 20th century. It is Biblical. Jesus used it. He worked closely with a small group of 12. He also instructed them to enlarge the group by sharing with others what they had come to know about God and ministry. New groups would be formed and begin all over again as the ministry expanded in their community.

John Wesley knew something that we are still trying to learn, namely that the Gospel lives and grows and has meaning when nurtured through relationships with others who believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. He believed that this could best be accomplished in small groups where each one is supported and held accountable in a loving Christ-like atmosphere.

Now in our time and in our church we, too, can discover the blessings which are derived from Christian small group experiences. Spiritual growth, personal discipleship, wholeness and health, and ministry to the community are just a part of the richness that small group ministry can provide when we seek to follow Christ.

SMALL GROUP MINISTRY

Our Small Group Ministry provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and sharing in an environment of friendship and encouragement.

Our goal is for our Small Group Ministry to evolve and grow with the needs of our church family. Do you have an idea or see the need for a new small group? Please contact Carolyn Ford Bock (334-8835) or Clara Morrison (335-5949) to let us know.

Join an existing Small Group or be a part of a new group. You are welcome in any small group, so come and visit!

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
