Show-Me Net encourages citizens and leaders to provide community information and services on the Internet. To further this goal we will provide the following services (at no charge) to each Cape Girardeau, Perry, or Scott County community and nonprofit organization with no official homepage:

► space on our server for an official homepage (e.g. www.showme.net/mytown) If you would prefer a unique domain name, e.g. www.mytown.gov, you may keep your homepage at no cost on Show-Me Net's server and pay a small charge to a registration and redirection service. (more info)

St. Joseph Catholic Church, 573/755-2330 This is the home of Our Lady of St. Joseph’s Shrine located in Apple Creek. Construction began in 1881 and the church was dedicated in 1884. Today, this 144-year-old building overlooks a beautiful natural waterfall and still serves the parish needs.

Located in Altenburg, this structure, built in 1845, is the oldest Church building in Perry County. It was used as a church until 1867, then was converted into a school and used for 102 years. Now it is a museum featuring many artifacts which were brought from Germany in 1839, and the "Liberty Bell," a symbol of the 2.7 million member Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod. The interior of this historic includes an altar, pulpit and baptismal that are the original furnishings of 1867. The Saxon Lutheran immigrants brought along a crucifix on the Altar and Baptismal Tray and Pitcher from Germany in 1839.

Concordia Log College and Seminary
The first Lutheran Seminary west of the Mississippi River and the first seminary of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Organized under the leadership of Dr. C. F. W. Walther, it opened in December of 1839. Transferred to St. Louis in 1849 as Concordia Seminary. The Log College is listed in the State of Missouri "Catalog of Historic Sites" and in the "National Register of Historic Places."

Saxon lutheran Memorial, (573) 824-5404 In 1839, a large group of Lutherans traveled from Saxony to America in search of a haven for their religious beliefs. This 11� acre site, located in Frohna, was established in memory of these individuals. Two of the many interesting buildings are a log barn containing antique farm equipment and a visitors center.
