Internship Opportunities

During the past 15 years, more than 50 students have interned at the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Under arrangements between various colleges and the prosecutor’s office, the student receives college credit for hours spent working at the prosecutor’s office.

Interns have come from the University of Missouri School of Law, the Southern Illinois School of Law, Southeast Missouri State University, and Metro Business College. Each student gets a bird’s eye view of the legal system while providing an extra pair of hands to help with projects and daily work at the prosecutor’s office.

Many of the interns have gone on to become prosecutors themselves in various state and federal offices. Several have eventually worked as paid employees at our office.

Students interested in applying for an internship should check with their school to confirm the availability of an internship program.
