Pack your bags, there's a whole world out there! "...we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " Acts 20:35

You will notice some green drawstring bags in the hallway. These are for our GLOBAL CARE PACKAGES. Each bag comes with a shopping list of items to put into the bag (approximate value is $15). GLOBAL CARE PACKAGES is a ministry of the Lutheran Hour Ministries and will be distributed, along with Gospel materials, to needy children worldwide. Take a bag, fill it up with the supplies on the shopping list (please conform to the list to ensure consistency and to make it easier to get the items through US Customs), sign the register on the table, go on a shopping expedition then return your filled bag, along with a personal note (or drawing if from a child) and return all items to the church. There is also a donation jar on the table. LHM is requesting $5 per bag to handle shipping costs. Even if you don't take a bag, please consider contributing to the shipping expense.

Have fun with this project! Form a group and go shopping together. Or take your young child or grandchild with you and explain what the items will be used for (some children have no way of getting school supplies or have many toys, etc.)

And don't forget the most important part of this project: Pray! Pray for the children around the world. Pray for LHM and their ministries. Pray for the Lord to guide your purchases that they be exactly what is needed.

Would you like to make a difference in the life of a young person and make it possible for him or her to grow in faith and become a vibrant disciple of the Lord Jesus? A student at our Lutheran schools is taught the Lutheran faith and the teachings of the Bible right alongside of their other subjects each and every day. The voters of Trinity Lutheran-Egypt Mills would like to make it possible for our members to send their students to an area Lutheran school. Tuition costs are continuing to rise. We are continuing to accept donations to the Education Endowment Fund so our families can have the option to provide a Christian education for their kids. This endowment fund is COMPLETELY SEPARATE from the church's budget, and ONLY THE INTEREST FROM THE DONATIONS IS TO BE USED annually. The money is sent to the Lutheran school of their choice to defer the costs of tuition. It is NOT free money given to the families regardless, but is subject to certain conditions and must be approved by the pastor and the Board of Elders. Thank you to the many people who have already donated to this effort. Your gifts to this fund will be making disciples for Jesus for many years to come! If you would like to know any more about this, please speak with Pastor Kevin or an elder.

HOME & SCHOOL
ASSOCIATION

Trinity-Egypt Mills Home and School Association is now being formed. This Association will be empowered to find ways to reduce their tuition costs at area Lutheran Schools. The funds generated by this group will be split evenly among its members and distributed directly to the Lutheran (LCMS) school of their choice. Attendance and participation at the meetings and fund-raisers is required, as well as regular attendance at church and at the Lord's table. Interested parties should contact Bruce King or Pastor Kevin for additional details. Watch your church calendar for our first meeting date.

"COUNTRY STORE"
ITEMS ARE NEEDED

The youth will be operating the "Country Store" at this year's Fall Festival. Donations of crafts, home canned goods, baked goods and fresh- from-the garden produce are needed. We are asking for donations from everyone! So start those crafts and remember us when planting those gardens!
